چکیده
The RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) manufacturing process is largely used for the fabrication of textile composites. During forming phase, deformations composite reinforcements at mesoscopic scale, such as positions, orientations, and changes in sections deformed yarns, are essential to calculate permeability reinforcement injection phase evaluate mechanical behaviors final products. However, models simulation lead a high computational cost due numerous yarns their complex contacts, especially thick reinforcements. In this paper, macro-meso method predicting with reasonable calculation time presented paper. proposed multi-scale allows linkage macroscopic modelling an RVE (Representative Volume Element) through embedded approach. Based on simulations using 3D hyperelastic constitutive law, geometry first deduced. solution can excessive extensions yarns. To overcome inconvenience, local based analysis carried out single RVE. Finally, investigated comparison experimental results, illustrating efficiency method.

Drape simulation of non-crimp fabrics
The draping process of non-crimp fabrics (NCF) on a doubly curved mould determines the fibre distribution and hence the processing and performance of the NCF product. A composite Finite Element (FE) model is developed to simulate the draping process of NCFs on arbitrary geometries. Tool-part interaction is taken into account. Problem regions with possible fibre buckling can be indicated and the...
متن کاملA Permeability Prediction for Non– Crimp Fabrics
A model is proposed to analyse the variation in the permeability of Non– Crimp Fabrics, originating from variations in the internal structure of the material. A geometrical description of the fabric based on the distortion induced by the stitch threads piercing through the fabric is employed. The distortions form channels which are mutually connected. It is assumed that these channels dominate ...
متن کاملA Permeability Prediction for (un)sheared Non-crimp Fabrics
A permeability prediction model for relaxed and sheared Non-Crimp Fabrics is proposed. The model is based on geometrical features of the fabric. The stitches penetrating the uni-directional plies of the NCF induce distortions of the fibres in the plane of the fabric. These Stitch Yarn induced fibre Distortions (SYD) form flow channels, which determine the permeability of the NCF. The channels a...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Shearing Properties of Woven Fabrics: Rated Force
This paper introduces a very simple way to evaluate low stress shearing properties of woven fabrics with the advantages of simplicity and easy accessibility. A 200-gram load is applied on small portion of the sample instead of applying the load overall width of the fabric. As a result, buckling of the fabric will happen and the loading-unloading curve will show the behavior of the fabric during...
متن کاملInfluence of the Dry Woven Fabrics Meso-structure on Fabric/fabric Contact Behaviour
The first stage of the RTM process concerns the preforming of the part. During the preforming of multilayered reinforcements, frictions between the plies occur. An experimental device designed to analyse the ply/ply, ply/tool and yarn/yarn frictions has been set up. Specific contact behaviour for ply/ply friction is directly related to shocks taking place between overhanging yarns of each sampl...
